Brad Flora is a life-long progressive thinker who sees the world with infinite levels of potential. He feels that only a small slice of this world may be taken at any one time and works to align opportunities with effiecient use of resources.
He is a photographer, and somewhat ironically, he is aware that the inorganic printing and framing techniques of our modern era conflict with the source of beauty that forms the core of his art.
While he believes that the efficient use of resources and continued support of healthy communities is the key to our ongoing survival as a collective society, he also believes that we must all take it one step at a time and not be too judgmental of others.

Statement:
I am different people according to the seasons. Summer's not my best, but one I’m learning to adapt. Born in Baltimore, in May 1974 just before humidity set in like frost and covers skin like skin. A writer at first then an artist. I’ve been painting glass for seven years in a serendipitous turn, a happy accident; a friend happened to be throwing away a print in a large glass frame. I knew instantly I wanted it. Unlikely turns, misinterpreted words, objects collected on the way, the process revealing itself, an entrance.
Fall is a release. And September comes with a B.A. in English and later an MFA in writing & the Publishing Arts. A student most of my life then on the other side of the desk, a teacher. Learning, reading, traveling; deserts of New Mexico to start, eventually my mind and body in a perfect northern arrow, like a compass reading, I moved up the interstate to Colorado, Wyoming and now furthest Idaho. |

BA Philosophy

Statement:
I have been thinking about art much longer then I have been taking pictures and creating art. I began studying philosophical aesthetics in collage and started taking pictures shortly there after. I got into photography as an art form because I'm interested in making images and visual media. I have worked as a photographer for my college newspaper; traveled to southeast Asia, Europe, and the Balkans to take photographs; looking for the things that we do not normally take note of, and the most enduring thing about these places has not been the big picture, but the smaller one. I look for the teeny tiny; the things our eye would normally pass over. It becomes my job to frame those objects in such a way so that we can look at them just a little differently. The peace of mind and joy that I get from being in a world as simple and clear as the one that I experience through the lens is as whole and complete an experience as I can imagine.
